Cusco & the Amazon Surroundings – Delfin II Cruise

Welcome to Lima, the 'City of Kings'. You will be met at the airport and escorted to your hotel.

Overnight in Lima.

Upon arrival at Iquitos Airport, you will get transferred to the city of Nauta, which is around 95 km (60 miles) away, where you will embark on your Amazonian River cruise. The Delfin II consists of 14 cabins, including 4 master suites at the front of the vessel with 180-degree panoramic windows and 10 suites, including 2 sets of suites that can be interconnected to accommodate families. Each suite comes complete with exquisite sheets and bedspreads, all-cotton towels and bathrobes, the finest organic amenities. An array of spaces, including the dining room, an observation deck and lounge, a bar, an entertainment center, and a lecture room create the epitome of calm and enjoyment. As the Delfin begins its initial navigation your guide will give you an overview of the journey's schedule, activities, route, highlights, wildlife and vegetation to keep your eye out for, geographical and historical background and other useful details before you make your way to the dining room for a spectacular dinner.

After your first morning’s breakfast you will board one of the skiffs and start exploring some amazing tributaries of the Pacaya Samiria Reserve. If you are lucky, you will get the opportunity to spot the famous pink river dolphins. Nevertheless, keep an eye on the Amazon skies for a chance to witness the regions bird species as they gracefully fly overhead. In the afternoon, myriad bird species, colorful butterflies and insects will await you during your next exploration tour of the Dorado river. The biodiversity is outstanding, and you will be entertained by the troops of noisy monkeys making their way along the river shores. As nights falls, you’ll get to encounter a whole new world of adventure.

Today’s first exploration starts right after breakfast. Aboard the aluminum skiffs you will begin your journey deep into the rainforest and discover the amazing variety of flora and fauna. In the afternoon you will exchange the skiff for kayaks and paddle along the Yarapa River. Enjoy the sights and sound of the jungle as you explore deeper into the jungle. Once you are back aboard the skiff you will visit the community of Puerto Miguel where you meet local villagers. You may step into a typical schoolhouse and be warmly welcomed by the local scholars, and then stop past an amazing arts & craft market created by the women of this community. Back aboard the vessel you will enjoy a delicious dinner and have time to relax for the rest of the evening.

With heavy hearts it time to bid farewell to the Delfin II and the staff. You reach the port of Nauta and disembark; you will then take the bus and make your way towards Iquitos. On route, you will visit the Rescue and Rehabilitation center of river mammals, where you will have the opportunity to see baby manatees and learn more about these wonderful creatures and why they are listed as endangered species. After this last excursion, you will be transferred to the Iquitos airport where your guide will assist you with the check-in for your flight back to Lima. The itineraries on board of the Delfin II are subject to change due to weather or river conditions.

An early morning flight brings you to the Inca capital of Cusco.
Upon arrival, you are welcomed by your friendly and knowledgeable private guide who’ll be with you throughout your stay. From Cusco´s airport, we will drive into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a tranquil oasis of cultural, historical, and agriculture richness. This day we will visit the Ccaccaccollo Community to discover a women’s weaving cooperative where we will see and feed the Andean camelids, such as the llamas and alpacas, and where the women will show us all the stages of the traditional weaving process: hand-spinning the wool, dying the wool using natural dyes, and participating in a weaving demonstration. Ccaccaccollo is a community that still have their traditional and ancestors’ customs, with an original heritage and form where you could have an amazing view of the mountains. We will then continue to the Inca and Colonial Pisac to discover one of the most beautiful archeological sites in the Sacred Valley located at the top of the mountain where you can have an amazing view of the colonial town of Pisac. Then, we will have a walking tour to the Colonial town where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. After visited Pisac, we will head to the impressive Inkariy Museum. Here we will take a guided tour of the museum to learn more about the numerous rooms where cultural representations of pre-Hispanic civilizations of ancient Peru are exhibited.

Overnight in the Sacred Valley.

Our adventure continues exploring the less visited treasures of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will start in Moray where the view is awesome due to the colossal concentric terraces simulating an amphitheater. The purpose of it: to recreate 20 different types of microclimates, a measure that guaranteed the agricultural production of the empire. After that, we will go to Maras, the famous and millenary salt mines from colonial times. The contrast of the white wells and the green valley is awesome and a must for a spectacular snapshot of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and in the afternoon, we will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, where we will be able to learn about the technique with which the Incas worked the stones.
Finishing our adventure, we will board the train to Machupicchu Town (Aguas Calientes).

Rise bright and early this morning for a morning and afternoon tour in Machu Picchu with your guide.
Your insightful private tour provides a complete overview of the world-renowned complex and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You may choose from a number of short hikes like the Sun Gate or The Inka Bridge but the most popular (subject to permit availability) are to climbing to Huayna Picchu or hike to the Machupicchu Mountain.
After lunch, we will return to Machupicchu to continue enjoying this magnificent citadel and recharge ourselves with positive energies.
At the end of the day, we will return to Machu Picchu Village where the train will return you to Ollantaytambo or Poroy to take a bus ride directly to your Hotel in Cusco.

We will get away from the crowds to visit Sacsayhuaman, an impressive fortress full of colossal structures surrounded by beautiful landscapes in complete communion with nature. We will then continue to the Inca shrine of Qenqo, with its awesome altar for sacrifices embedded in the side of the rock.
Finally, we wiil reach the Puca Pucara watchtower and Tambomachay, a monument of noticeable architectural excellence, considered one of the pillars of the Andean view of the world.
We will return to the City and on the way we will stop at San Cristobal to enjoy a panoramic view of the city delighting us with a small toast. Finished this parto f our tour, we will drop you off at your hotel.

At 6pm, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to San Cristobal church that is the beginning of our night adventure; from this place, you can have a very nice and amazing view of the city. After taking some pictures, we will begin our walking tour descending to the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, where your tour guide will explain you all about the most important building around. Later we will continue walking along Hatunrumiyoc Street where we can appreciate the famous 12 angles stone and then continues walking to San Blas, a bohemian neighborhood, crib of the most important artisans and painters. We will finished this unique experience visiting a local bar to taste our best Peruvian Cocktail – The Pisco Sour. After enjoying the refreshing Pisco Sour, you will have the option to enjoy a delicious dinner in a good restaurant and after that; your tour guide will take to your Hotel.

Our adventure begins very early, at 03:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., starting to pick up their respective hotels.
Later we leave in our transport units towards Cerro Colorado or Rainbow Mountain. Along the way we will observe multicolored landscapes and crops that are mixed between the mysterious mountains and snowy, Andean animals like llamas, alpacas, sheep, and vicuñas. After 3 hours we will arrive to the community of PITUMARCA there we will take our exquisite breakfast.
After our breakfast, we head to the community of Qesoyuno place where our adventure begins. The hike to the mountain is approximately 3 hrs up the mountain.
Starting the walk we will pass a path that gradually changes the panorama between mountains of intense colors and small streams of ice water that feed and give life to this beautiful place, as we go walking we will observe how the colors around us will change by the climate, until reaching the skirts of the Cerro Vinincunca. We will ascend to a height more than 5033 m.s.n.m. Top of the magic Mountain of Colors or Rainbow Mountain.
This is the point where we will have enough time to take selfies, photographs, videos, etc. At the same time will be the place where we will enjoy our refreshment while we appreciate the magic and energy that keeps this majestic place, behind its veil of clouds, and snowy peaks. After such an exquisite experience we will undertake the return trek for approximately 3 hours to the town of PITUMARCA, where our mobile unit awaits us, we return to our restaurant to have lunch.
Finally we return to Cusco, arriving in the city of Cusco at 18:30 pm where we Will transfer to your hotel.
